Charles Esche will speak about the possibility of the art museum becoming a meaningful public institution in a diverse and often antagonistic society. 

Charles Esche works in Eindhoven (NL) at the Van Abbemuseum, the experience of which he will draw on in his introduction. He co-founded the publishing house Afterall in 1999 where he works as an editor. He has worked on a number of international biennales including Istanbul, Sao Paulo and Jakarta and recently curated The Lost Museum at Kunsthalle Oslo and Power and Other Things. Indonesia and Art for Europalia, BOZAR, Brussels with Riksa Afiaty. He tries to write about politics, art museums and decolnial/demodern thinking as much as he can.
