Derya Yücel is a curator, art writer, lecturer and member of the Board of AICA Turkey (International Association of Art Critics). She studied Art Management (BA), Museology (MA) and Art History (PhD continues). She worked as a lecturer at İstanbul Kültür University between 2006-2017 and at Istanbul Bilgi University Department of Arts and Culture Management since 2009. She is working as the curator for Sabancı University KASA Gallery since 2015. She has curated many national/international solo and group exhibitions and has written art articles for magazines/newspapers since 2004.  including "Korea-Turkey Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibitions" Incheon / Seoul / Istanbul 2006-2007, "Save As" Milano Trienale Bovisa 2008 , "28. Contemporary Artists Istanbul Exhibition "Akbank Art Istanbul 2009, “Nil Yalter solo Show” Vienna Galerie Hubert Winter 2011, “Reunion” Sabancı Museum Istanbul 2015, “Formless” Belgrade Modern Art Museum New Media Salon 2014-2015, “All the Lights We Can not See” Galerist Istanbul 2017, “With love from Semiha Berksoy” O'Art 2017, “HOME” 15th Istanbul Biennial neighbor exhibition in Museum Evliyagil Ankara 2017.

Her book titled “New Media Art and the New Museology” was published by Istanbul Culture University in 2012. She worked as editor and writer for the Nil Yalter artist monography published 2013 by Galerist, İstanbul and İrfan Önürmen artist monography published 2015 by C24 New York. And she wrote “Semiha Berksoy: Cataloque Raisonne” published 2018 by Galerist, İstanbul.
